The Detroit Newspaper Strike of 1995 tests the friendship and resolve of three friends as they attempt to hold the line.

The history: On July 13th, 1995, the 6 related unions of Detroit's two major newspapers went on strike. Most on the picket lines thought they'd be out of work for a few days.

It lasted for 583 days and ended in failure.

"[The newspapers]... will continue until
all the strikers either leave town or die."

- Detroit Newspapers CEO,
Frank Vega, 1995

The media is not beholden to big business,

it is not in bed with big business,
it IS big business."
